The photographs on this page are more recent images of Nikiah, the Beauceron you can see in Photo Gallery 1. There are also images of Nikiah's litter mate and sister Nikiwee, owned by another friend on one of South Carolina's sea islands. She is not a show dog, but is a sweet companion to her owner and Nikiah's favorite playmate. Beaucerons love to mouth box and wrestle and will run full tilt for long periods of time when given the space and opportunity. Their play can appear ferocious to the uninitiated, but is truely play. After a long bout of play, they will lie down close together, often in the same pose and rest until their next high energy round of activity. A well socialized Beauceron can be a good family dog, but they are very owner centered. Nikiah is very patient with children, as some of the pictures on this page will atest. Nikiah's new "sister", another Beauceron from a different breeder, has recently joined the Loff family. Her name is Priness Phrygia and at the time the photos of her on this page were taken, she was fourteen weeks old and thirty-eight pounds. Phrygia ( pronounced Freezia ) has alreadty begun to display the typical Beauceron behaviors and keeps her big brother Nikiah and his sister Nikiwi busy fending off wrestling and mouth boxing attacks. All indications are that she is a highly intelligent offspring of this breed.
